FOOD COURT OF GPL

Play, Watch, Eat!

GSB cuisine is one of the most underrated cuisines in India; the community does not spare anything that is green to make some of the most wonderful dishes that are popular during weddings and other family events.  Today the hotel industry in Mangaluru is dominated by GSB’s even in seafood and vegetarian cuisine and rightly so! But at the GPL 2019, the community went beyond their own cuisine to provide a taste of Mangalore to its guests.

Idli Sambar, Samosa, Cut Fruit, Ideal Ice Cream, Lassi, Buttermilk, Appam Kurma, Ghee Rice, Panneer Masala, Gobi Manchuri, Baby  corn rava fry, Kichidi, Kerala Puttu Curry, Ragi Mudde Sambar, Panneer Tawa fry,  Maggi, Fruit Punch, Popcorn, Potato Twister, Semige, Dalitoy, Gola, Vadapav, Charmuri, Cotton Candy, Hangyo Softee, Mushroom Masala Dosa, Sugarcane juice, Mocktails, Natural Ice creams,  Hangyo’s Milk Shakes, Rumali Rotis, Shimla Mirsang, Chats like Shev Puri, Pani Puri at the chat counter grabbed centre stage at the food court.

All of these and more were provided to all who attended the GPL free of cost by three of the biggest names in cuisine in Mangalore – Maharaja’s Restaurant, Kamath Caterers and Shreya Sweets!  What astonished the guests was that they could have their stomach’s fill throughout the 36 hours that the GPL was hosted – be it midnight or the early hours of the morning – whether 2 am or 4 am!

This sumptuous food court  was organized by Vignesh Nayak and team.

Entry to the event of course was only by invitation, and in keeping with the community’s dalliance and involvement with technology, all invites were bar-coded and entry was barred for those whose codes could not be deciphered. But it was a feast for hungry bunnies, and a treat for those not so hungry!
